hi all, looking for some help / suggestions....

Recently lost all my digital copies of my cd collection music from a crashed HDD, instead of spending the next month endlessly burning / downloading my collection back on, does any one have any suggestions on how to copy onto my harddrive (external mass storage HDD) 300-400 cd's of music from private cd collection so i can use for iTunes, MP3 etc.?

I am womdering if there is a machine or drive or reader that does CD reading of data on mass / high volume - say 10 or 15 at time?? anyone know of such a thing or company maybe that offers this service?

lok forward to your feedback....

cheers.

Hi - there are quite a few self-contained rippers - here. for instance, is a nice ultra-quiet one . .  here's another.

Search-terms you might feed into google could be: "jukebox" "standalone" "cd-ripper"

. .  FWIW, there is/was an Aussie-based project called "Pyglet" - might be worth chasing up the developers.

An alternative would be to find a ripping program that you can run more than one instance of and connect as many CD/DVDs to your comp as possible.  As an experiment I have recently ripped 6 DVDs to ISO, on my HD, using cloneDVD, 2 IDE DVD writers and 4 Sata DVD writers.  The system was AMD 5200, 2x2G memory and winXPx64.  It took about 25mins to do all 6
