Hi folks. I'm not able to burn an Mp3 disc in iTunes.

In the past i've had no problem making data discs in Windows Media, which coverts audio to WMA files. However, I was at a friends who has lots of tunes in iTunes, so I made a playlist and tried to burn an mp3 CD to play in my car. First itunes told me it couldn't burn an mp3 CD because the tunes weren't already in an mp3 format. so then i told it to burn a data disc, which it did. but i couldn't play the disc in my car player, which can play WMAs and Mp3s.

Turns out the tunes on my disc are m4a files. with the disc in my windows laptop, i've tried to get iTunes to convert the files into mp3s, but can't.  do i need to download some software to do this? Or is there a way I could get Windows Media to do it -- although Windows Media doesn't seem to even recognize the files.

Thanks,
DR

"*.m4a" is the (much better) compressed-audio format iTunes natively uses instead of *.mp3

There are freeware m4a > mp3 converters - Foobar2000 (http://www.foobar2000.org/) springs to mind as good, if not exactly glossy.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
