Hi, I hope someone can help... I have a large file in TAO format that I hope to convert to DVD. Can anyone tell me what I have to do or what programme to get to perform the conversion. Can it be done directly or do I have to convert to something else first? I have Nero & Clone DVD, will either of these progs do the conversion? I have been looning on the net for answers but keep reading about ISO files, I am hoping that I dont have to convert to ISO first. So long as the disk will play on my PC and if possible on my DVD player too the files can be any format needed. Hopefully someone will be able to understand what I am saying and have an answer.

Cheers

Hi - for some info on what the *.tao extension means, go here (http://filext.com/file-extension/TAO) . .  but the explanations seem to miss what I understand to be the point - that such an image is padded at the end w/ 150 blank sectors. It is a slightly unusual way to treat DVD-sized imgaes.

How big is this file? What is it supposed to contain? Do you know what application was used to create it?

I'd simply rename it from (whatever).tao to (whatever).iso then write the thing to a [RW] disk as an image & see what's what.

If that fails post back here - the usual advice would probably be to try to extract the data from this image using ISOBuster or similar; me I think I'd first try to mount it [renamed to *.iso] using Daemon tools & make sure there's something there & I wasn't wasting my time
