I have a seriously damaged cd which is not even acknowleged by any cd drive. there is literally a chunk missing out of the inside of the burnt track. its holiday photos on the disk, so im thinking that some of the data towards the end of the burnt track (after the damage)will still be readable.

so i need a drive or program or something which will just read the disk without bothering to check if there is a disk there (!). i have tried isobuster and bad cd repair and all the normal programs, but the fact that the drive wont read it at all makes them all useless.

anyone got any ideas what i can do? i would give up if it werent for the fact that the disk has really precious photos of a 3 month trip round asia.

any ideas greatly appreciated

Hey Tur***an

I aint sure of how to read a disk if there is a hole in it but thought I'dask some simple Qs to see if you have looked at some other possibilities..
I f you're a computer whiz I hope this doesnt offend ..

If you used your current computer to burn the disk or store the photos or can get to that one you may find some pictures hiding around in trhe creases of the drives..

Open "MyComputer" Hit CTRL+F(for the find funtion) and search for ALL of the pictures of the Extension(s) which were used on the disk of lost treasures..

In the Search line type (*.jpeg) no quotes..
Of course if the pictures are of another extension substitute the appropo one in place of "jpeg" eg.)bmp, jpg, tif etc........

SOme unknown or long lost pictures may show up..

Good Luck
